Simanjaro Animal Husbandry Vocational Training Center’s main role to to educate young people from the tribe of the Maasai on the proper agricultural methods and animal husbandry. Giving them this education will not only assist their efforts but also be able to share this information with others within their pastoralist community. This placement needs volunteer due to the shortage of teaching staffs particularly in subjects such as English, Mathematics, Biology, Physics, Chemistry, basic computer skills.They are funded through tuition fees from the students in attendance. They assist the following community: Pastoralists of Kiteto, Simanjiro, Monduli and Ngorongoro Districts Volunteers must be of age 26 or above with minimum education of Posgraduation. This placement does not need any volunteer in the month of Dec. Volunteers with the following special skills are preferred for the placement:- Teacher – English Teacher – Math Teacher – Physical Education Computers – MS Office Software Biology Organic Chemistry Educational Games Volunteers can assist by doing following tasks:- Teaching English Teaching Math Teaching Biology Extra curricular activities teaching sports basic computer use Placement Location: Arusha city (2002 est. pop. 270,000 now estimated at 1.6 Million).
