ELMINA SLAVE CASTLE

The Elmina Castle is one of the most visited tourist attractions in Ghana. For almost 300 years, Elmina Castle was the center of the Transatlantic Slave Trade. This was undoubtly one of the most memorable experiences I have ever had while on tour. Immediatedly after entering the castle, I as overwhelmed by the ghost of the past and in touch with my ancestors spirits. I imagined the smells blood , sweat, tears and excrements of my ancestors. I could only imagine the deplorable conditions that was endured by those who survived. And finally, at the “Door of no Return”, many in the tour broke down to uncontrolable tears and uxplained chants. No matter, what race, creed, color or religion; the Elmina tour is a must.
