The ring is neither as shiny in person, nor is the stone clear. There is some white residue in the detail work, no sure what it is from, but glad it was not delivered directly to my wife. I;ll need to have it cleaned first.

I can’t describe how gorgeous this ring is–I’ve never had a more beautiful or more artistically detailed ring. The detailing is very pretty, and the colour of the stone is comparable to a South Seas lagoon with the sun sparkling on it. The picture does not do it justice. I bought the earrings too, and the reflective color of their stones is a little less intense than the ring, but no less pretty. While the ring reflects an intense violet blue, the earrings reflect a more muted, aqua blue colour, in most light. All of the stones are clear and beautiful, and the detailing is well-done, no need for cleaning, as a previous poster mentioned.
My only problem with the ring is that the opening in back was not finished, it was cut but not shaped, so it is very sharp, and it pinches and cuts the finger on my right hand, which is thin-skinned. I will need to visit a jeweler to get it finished, sending it back will be too problematic. In the meantime it only goes on my left hand, which is A-OK with me.

This ring is really pretty. The other reviewer complained about clarity and residue but mine came perfect and wearable right from the box. The color is very pretty–a turquoisy green that shows blue on the facets. It will go great with a ton of outfits in my wardrobe and I think I’ll be getting the matching earrings and pendant too.
The only thing to consider is that the ring has a little break (on purpose) which allows for a little bit of stretch. I am a 9.5 size or so on my middle finger and went up a size when I should have gone down. The ring is a little loose on my finger and the break provides a tiny bit of stretch. So consider choosing a size down rather than a size up.
